Palm and Tide | Flamingo

We had an awesome time in our cozy cottage. The house was clean and welcoming. Very comfortable and relaxing vibe. The host reached out several times to insure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed our walks to Gilchrist Park, Sunset Beach Club, Punta Gorda Coffee and Tea (they have wine, beer, and their chocolates are amazing.) The house is a hop and a skip from all Punta Gorda has to offer. We were within walking distance from Carmelo Italian Ristorante, Celtic Ray Public House, Farmers Market, Fresco Ice Cream and Coffee Shop (we checked out “free” bikes there), and FM Don’s. Quick access to drive north to the beaches. The cottage even has laundry which is a win/win when packing for the trip. Full kitchen for that night in and we really enjoyed our nightcap glass of wine on the spacious front porch. We did drive down to Fort Myers for a Twins Spring Training game - highly recommended. Great location that was easy to walk or bike to area attractions. This home is very well done with comfortable furniture, plenty of space, and a nice front enclosed porch area. Clean, neat, well stocked with very good communication from the host.

The house is old, but newly remodeled. It is clean and comfortable. Location is good, many things are walkable and it's quiet at night. My downgrade from a 5 star is the following: promised amenities missing/broken: no hairdryer, the freezer was broken so I had no ice and couldn't buy anything frozen, I couldn't get the washing machine to work (dryer turned on, so I don't think it was the circuit breaker) and I had to squeeze through a garage full of furniture to get to the machines. Also, there was a black flaky substance on the toilet lid that seemed to be falling from the fan. Every time I cleaned it up, it came back. I didn't know what it was, so I was afraid to use that toilet. Bathrooms are small with no counter space to put anything and only 1 hook next to the shower. Very difficult to function in there. Overall my stay was fine, but due to these inconveniences, it probably wouldn't be my first choice.

We had such a relaxing time in this little cottage so close to everything. What a nice getaway. Awesome host!
